Instrumental, Folk, Tribal, or Modern you will find it all here from all corners of the world. Because the thought at DIMAT is that when Music has no barriers, why should it be encompassed in brackets or volumes ! If a hymn, a chant or a strain has been sung somewhere not to miss out the orchestras of Zubin Mehta or Pavarotti the chances are you will find it here. The Music Library is a heaven both for music lovers as well as for those seeking a first time orientation into an endless world.
A completely fitted studio with the finest of systems and speakers, along with individual stations are all provided here. So that you can create your own music island!.
SPORTS
Insisting on Sports as a way of life is almost A Way of Life- at DIMAT. Taught and encouraged both as a means of de-stressing the mind, as also encouraging it as a Careerist Option is a game plan here.
Indoor Games include the latest on animation and video, as also chess, carrom, swimming, badminton, squash. A golf course is in the pipeline, although at the moment at a very nascent stage. Outdoor Sports include Cricket, Football, Volleyball and Hockey.
Plans are on the anvil to import bowling machines for Cricket and set up an Astro-turf Strip for Hockey. It is also planned to organize sports luminaries from India and the World to come in and share their experiences, both to energies the activities and= also to set the youthful pulses racing.
DISHA CARNIVAL :
A grand gala sixteen days long carnival was organized by Disha Education Society at Satya Vihar Campus. This colourful extravaganza had all the ingredients to bring hoards of excitement for students of Disha. This had all the colours of life, from dressing up to showcasing their talent in fields very distanced from the regular studies like 'Dishayein' had competitions where artistic talents were brought to forte; 'Parakram' had all the ingredients to show students' caliber on the sports-ground and 'Di-Tech Fest' where students' capability to use their education in actual situations was judged. To add some more colour to this all, the days were named and colours were assigned to these days.
All students, staff and teachers donning the same coloured attire had an effect of its own and this brought in a wave of excitement in the campus as to who the winner of the day was. The days were named as: Peace Day, Mis-match Day, Pink Day, Song Dedication Day, Flower Day, Trendy Day, Bollywood Day, Folk/ Ethnic Day, Greeting Day, Rock Day
DISHAYEIN
Under 'Dishayein' there were Rangoli -(Water, Ground); Salad Decoration (Fruit & Veg); Flower Decoration; Clay Modeling, Mehandi Competition, Best Out of waste, On Spot Painting, Collage; Skit, Mimickery, Mime; Song: Solo, Group, Antakshari; Instrumental; Dance: Folk, Solo - Classical/ Semi classical and Western; On Spot Poetry -Competition; Rescue Debate; Extempore speech competitions
JHANKAR
Jhankar is a mega event for promoting the budding talents of whole of Chhattisgarh State. It is the most awaited event and has turned into a great success. It has given students a great platform to show their inherent capabilities in the areas the competitions are held.
PARAKRAM
It had both indoor and out door competitions where both physical and mental abilities were challenged and a balance had to be struck in order to be a winner. These abilities had to be shown both in individual and team events. These are: Carom, Chess, Table-Tennis, Kabbaddi, Volleyball, Football, Throw Ball, Football and Athletics.
DI-TECHFEST
A National Level competition was held on Jan.15-16, in which 23 different Engineering Colleges, including IITs from all over India took part; had various competitions where minds were pitied in competitions like:
TECHTALK : A paper presentation event; TECHYANTRA: Model/ project competition; TECHSOFT: Software competition;
TECHGAME: Games competition;
TECHQUIZ : A quiz on technical studies;
TECHKRITI: A Poster Competition;
TECHSAMWAD: Speech Competition.
Apart from this, to encourage craving for learning amongst school students there were some competitions at School level too. They were:
TECHMODEL: Model/ project competition;
TECHPOSTER: A Poster Competition; a whooping number of participants i.e. 500 entries were there.
DI-IMPULSION
Disha organized a National B-School competition where by students of different management schools participated in a variety of management games and left the organization filled with immense satisfaction and a thought to visit campus again. National Level Events for all management students for marketing, finance and HR.
The events were named as : The Analyst - Case Study, The Change Agent - HR, Media Attack - Meet the Press, The Transcendent - Best Manager, Divergent Thinker - Creative Ad, Brianiac -Business Quiz, Bull Vs Bear - Dalal Street, The Trailblazer - Paper Presentation.
On the eve of the final day, there was a fun fiesta, a fete organized by the society. There was "Hot- Air Balloon-Ride", which was enjoyed by many. Rising above the buildings in the vicinity was a unique experience. Then came the "Air-Modelling Show" and fete went on where guests and members of Disha family enjoyed to the hilt the different cuisines at various stalls.
DI-QUEST
DI- Quest 2010 three days literary meet was organized by Disha College of higher secondary studies, Kota, Raipur, on 21.12.2010. DI- Quest was the ultimate platform for the students providing them literal and intellectual development through which the participants can develop an overall personality. The various events organized were drawing, speech, quiz, rescue debate & essay competition. Di- Quest was successfully organized and completed in which almost 30 reputed schools participated and made their institute feel proud of their achievements.
MOVIE REVIEW COMPETITION
Movie Review Competition has been organized for students from 8th to 12th standard to provide a platform for innovative and creative thinking and explore the hidden talent for their self development.
