seminar on “ Anna Hazare & Media” by Mr. Prabhu Chawla
After Mr Jaipraksh Narayan, It was Mr Anna Hazare a social activists, who built a new landmark in the history of independent India against corruption. Due to strong support of common man "Anna Hazare" has now become a part of our daily news. "I believe that Anna is news and not media" he is the subject of news for the entire society. News discussed not only in the four walls but rather in different aspects of organisational institutions.
These views expressed by Mr Prabhu Chawla, Editorial Editor, New Indian Express during a seminar on " Anna Hazare & Media" of Disha Institute of Engineering and Management. Mr. Chawla introduced with the statement that Anna and Media are two side of the same coin i.e complementary to each other. The actual job of media is to familiar daily report of well known personalities and their tasks in front of the society which consists of common man. Anna is the mere representative of that common man who belongs to the unprivileged background. Now he is considered as the voice of crores of people living in India.
Further, Mr. Chawla expressed by highlighting the fact that the person who uplifted the spirits of millions of people, could easily be considered as the subject of news and that news is brought up by media itself. Today Anna is the reason to provide employment to thousands of journalist quoted by Mr. Chawla. According to Mr. Prabhu Chawla there should be a separate body to restrain the face of ugly India.....Corruption. In addition, Chief Secretary Mr. Sunil Kumar, (IAS), Higher Education Secretary Mr. C.K Khaitan, Chairman of Disha Educational society Mr. S.K. Jain and Director (DES) Mr. Umesh Upadhyay showed their renowned presence on this occassion.
Mr. Chawla declared that though corruption could not be demolished entirely but it could be minimized till some extend so as not to harm the society on the whole as improvement is better than acceptance.
