Nikita at XLRI, Jamshedpur - Crowning Glory for Disha
Wins Ensemble 2011, GENESIS Social Business Plan Competition
Ms. Nikita Sharda added yet another success story to Disha Education Society's DIMAT Chapter by winning the first prize at XLRI, Jamshedpur, alongwith cash of 30,000/- in the recently held GENESIS Social Business Plan Competition - Ensemble 2011. The Indian Angel Network in association with Ensemble 2011 conducted the 'Genesis - Social B-Plan Contest'. Students had an opportunity to get a seed funding of up to one million dollars from one of the biggest names in the Venture Capital Domain, Indian Angel Network, and directly implement their path-breaking ideas. The top 3 teams were explored for incubation and funding opportunity based on their elevator pitch with the Indian Angel Network.
Nikita beat five other teams from premier B-schools across the country including ISB Hyderabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, NITIE Mumbai and the likes. Seasoned investors judged the B-Plans on their social relevance and feasibility for both the first round and the campus rounds, where Nikita excelled with her superb presentation and exceptional business plan.
On being questioned on the success Ms Nikita perked up saying, "The name behind me has made my dream come true. Our institution has not just given us the optimum practices in the field of management but also polished my professional skills!"
The Principal, School of Management, Prof R K Mishra applauded the triumphant Nikita and prized her hard work. "Nikita is a treasure for the institute. Her diligence and knack has paid her good returns."
